  • Regrettable Unmentionables

I don’t know if my friend John had the foresight to leave a will, or if he had plans for what would happen on his final day of life. I think frequently (yes, my mind works that way) of what I would do if I was told I had one day left to live – usually it involves DJ and kissing among other things. But I don’t have anything written down anywhere that states exactly what needs to be said.

One of my friends, Mark, had posted on his Facebook page something about needing to say “I love you” more often. I think that’s a good start, I recall my friend Brian once said I was the first person outside his family who ever told him that – strictly platonic, he was a roommate and is a good friend. I tell lots of people I love them, usually I mean it…. sometimes I, just out of habit, say “Ok, love you, bye bye”, to whomever I had on the phone, whether its Suzanne or a telemarketer.

But what else should be known, what else will I not have time to say? That’s a good question. That co-author who wrote the book 100 things to do before you die, died recently – fell and hit his head and he was dead. I wonder if he got to do all 100 things. I wonder if he got to tell his father he loved him.

So the point here, and I do have one, is that I’m going to start writing about those things here and try to say all those things that I needed to say and was either too busy, or to afraid to say. You never know when it might be too late.

  • He Didn't Show

    My dream last night…

He called me, to give in to our longing, he agreed to marry me once and for all. I was shocked, I never thought this day would come, but was also overcome with the joy and excitement that followed. I made plans with friends and made sure all was as it should be for that special day.

When the day arrived and all my friends joined me on the way to the house where the celebration was to be (Ann’s house which is weird as her husband fired me this year). Spirits were high, and everyone was very happy for me.

He never showed. I found him on a park hill, playing with his children, he gave me a look and I understood that he could not come with me while they were there. Which, sadly, made me love him all the more.

  • Military Jury's

Is there any realistic chance that one of the US Military Jury’s, that we’ve created just to skate outside the law, could possibly find anyone innocent? Why are they even going through the charade at all…

There is no such thing as a fair trial in a court that was created to by pass all known laws.

  • Special Notice

This is a special notice, that should be brought to the attention of anyone you think may need to know.

WOMEN: For the love of God, quit wearing half a bottle of perfume. If I can smell your perfume on the other end of the train, that is way way way too much. There is an article in the link that talks about women being depressed and that leading to a decline in their olfactory abilities. OK, fine… all women are nuts, go see a psychiatrist.

MEN: Ok, it’s rare that a man or boi will wear too much cologne, but it has been known to happen. Usually, they are so drugged up they don’t even know they have a small piece of toilet paper on their shoe… so there is just no helping them. Men should though – wear something that doesn’t make people gag when they meet… clean up a little bit please

  • Gas Prices… Where It Really Hurts

Gas prices should not affect me… I should, as a pedestrian/mass transit user, be completely immune – But I’m not.

I finally recognized what it was last night. The tons of people that don’t know how to use the turnstiles at the metro, the people with oversize bags – looking like they could be mugged at any second, the people that don’t wait for people to come off the train before boarding…

Yes, I’m talking about the sudden influx of passengers onto my buses and trains. These people follow the rules less than the teenagers, these people need to go.

PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU… FIX the price of gasoline, get these people back up on the highways and byways where they belong and off of the relatively quiet, orderly subway.

  • Deception

The other night I had a date at the theaters near Chinatown metro. I came straight from work and realized that I might want to buy a mint or something for my breath. Remembering that the CVS is being remodeled and therefore closed, I walked across to the Starbucks to buy a small tin of mints. When I walked up to the register to pay for them, the cashier looked at me and said:

“You came all the way over here for mints?”

I looked up at him and said:

“Yep, I have a date and don’t want to have bad breath when she gets here.”

“she”… wow… so in a split second there at the register I somehow found the need to conceal who I really am. Isn’t that odd.

    ——–

My best friend Suzanne was recently telling her boyfriend about me. She said “He’s gay”. I wasn’t there, but he must have rolled his eyes or something, cause she said: “You can’t really tell.”

    ——–

It was always one of those little things when I was a kid:
Don’t hold your hands that way.
Never ever let a limp wrist show.
Make sure you don’t walk like a girl, talk like a girl or drool at boys like a girl.

What does that do to the inside of your mind growing up if you can’t be who you are, can’t express what you really feel. Its odd to think of these things now, but it’s what’s on my mind.

  • Quitting a Church

    Obama,

You’re quitting your church, that you’ve been attending for how many years due to some comments that keep coming out of it? This church hasn’t been touting the same nonsense for the previous years that you’ve been a member, just now… yeah right.

You belonged to the church because you believed the fundamental message that the church was preaching. Now you’ve suddenly had a change of heart after how long? What opened you’re eyes? Why the sudden change of heart? Did you suddenly find that the religion of the all powerful media is a stronger faith than what you’ve been used to?

Stop for a moment and look at the fools we let talk that are “religious leaders”: Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, the Pope…. these fools continue to say incredibly insensitive things that should have them banned from the airwaves, the pulpit and certainly not ever be allowed in the White House… yet you think what’s been coming out of your church is more outrageous? Come on… Grow some balls…

At this point it’s too late, you’ve left your church… going back now and saying that you let the media and polls tell you to leave and that you want back in is stupid…

This was a dumb move. Don’t let “them” decide what is worthy of believing in a land where we preach, but don’t often practice, “freedom of religion”.

  • Tell All Books

The latest book about the Bush Presidency, from yet another insider is met again by cries of foul and disbelief. They actually continue to claim all the accusations are false…. each time one of these books comes out… how many books by how many different people will it take before they actually turn around, look at Monkey Boy and say… yep, he’s a lying tyrant that I’ve helped to wage a war that never had to be…

  • A Shoestring

Somewhere in the last 30 years I’ve forgotten how to properly tie my shoes. I don’t know where the knowledge has gone or why it has left but it’s just not in my head anymore. My shoes come untied 2 – 3 times a day, this is even with a double knot.

I do realize that I spent about 5 years exclusively wearing boots – which made playing tennis interesting – maybe that’s where the knowledge got mad and decided to slip away unnoticed until now.

I do hope it comes back.

  • Why I Hate The Gym…

Even when I was young, I never had any real desires to exercise. While my siblings would be out in the snow or running around outside playing tag or ball; I would rather be in my room reading a book or watching TV.

In school it was a little different, I learned to detest P.E. class. Silly exercises that were mandatory, taught by either frightening muscled out hairy beasts or the women that wanted to be frightening muscled out hairy beasts. There was no explanation as to why these were necessary, what they would do for us, it was a ‘chore’. Now, the rest of school was also a chore, but it seemed less so to me. I didn’t mind learning things, just didn’t want any sweat involved in the learning.

So tonight, I go off to Gold’s Gym and meet with my personal trainer for the last time. I haven’t actually seen her in a few weeks, nor been to the gym. I just can’t drag myself to go, there is nothing of interest at the gym and I find it very boring.

I guess I’m self conscious too, I often compare myself to others outsides or what I see this guy or that guy doing. So and so can lift this much weight and I can only lift this much weight so why even try. It seems an effort in futility to me.

What I really need is a reason to go, some kind of motivation or excuse that will inspire me… and I haven’t found that yet.
